Bike the Bicentennial Canal! June 4, 2017!

Celebrate the creation of the Historic Erie Canal, constructed between 1817 and 1825!  All bicyclists are welcome to join in for a guided, 12-mile, casual, group ride on Sunday, June 4, 2017, presented by the Trails Subcommittee of the Town of Clifton Park Open Space, Trails, & Riverfront Committee, to check out a newly restored trail, on the towpath for the Erie Canal!  Join Town Historian John Scherer and Jerry Burr of the Town’s Trails Subcommittee for a guided, easy-going ride and learn about the special places in the hamlets of Grooms Corners and Vischer Ferry; the Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve (40th Anniversary in 2017!) and experience the newly restored, Erie Canal Towpath Community Connector Trail!

Meet up at 12:45 p.m. at Historic Grooms Tavern, for a 1 p.m. start. Helmets are required for every participant. Call 371-6054 for more info.  Please click on the flyer below for more details.
