Save-the-date for a fun, family “Learn-to-Fish at Clifton Park Open Space Day” educational event to be held at Barney Road Park, on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Children and their parents, grandparents, extended family, neighbors and folks of all ages, are invited to experience a great day of fishing in the Barney Road Pond, in the heart of the Clifton Knolls neighborhood in the Town of Clifton Park.
The free event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants may bring their own poles, but some poles will be available through the program. Participants are not required to have a freshwater fishing license during the event.
This event is a Free Sportfishing Clinic that will be offered in conjunction with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Division of Fish, Wildlife and Marine Resources, and the Town of Clifton Park.
“Learn-to-Fish at Clifton Park Open Space Day” is a new activity being offered as part of the Town of Clifton Park’s 3rd Annual Clifton Park Open Space Day, an event organized by the Town’s Open Space, Trails & Riverfront Committee and the Town Board.
Additionally, a community celebration will take place at Historic Grooms Tavern, at the intersection of 290 Sugar Hill Road and Grooms Road, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with exhibitors and community organizations. Guided nature hikes will also be offered at times throughout the day. A full schedule of events is forthcoming and will be posted.
Parking is available for the fishing event at the Barney Road Park/Pool via the pool parking lot, located at 1 Barney Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
