All are invited and welcome to attend a public informational meeting about planning for recreational access enhancements focused on the Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve, in the Town of Clifton Park. The meeting is set for Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Clifton Park Town Hall, located at the intersection of Clifton Park Center Road and Vischer Ferry Road. Consultants from Barton & Loguidice will lead the meeting, joined by town officials and the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byways Coalition.
The town in conjunction with the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway Coalition has been awarded multiple sources of outside assistance, including state funding through the Hudson River Valley Greenway and New York State Canal Corporation and in addition, federal funding through the National Scenic Byways – Federal Highway Administration, and to date, volunteer in-kind services by the Friends of the Mohawk Towpath. The combined funding is being utilized with local support, to conduct planning, design and construction of public access enhancements focused primarily at Clute’s Dry Dock vicinity and the Ferry Drive Gateway entrances into the Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve.
Public comments will also be accepted in writing through Dec. 30.
