DESCRIPTION:The Town of Clifton Park’s Awesome Autumn Guided Bike Ride is set for Sunday\, October 7\, 2018\, with a ride start of 1 p.m. to about 4 p.m.  Meet-up is 12:45 p.m. at the Jonesville Fire Station #1\, located at 953 Main St\, Clifton Park\, NY 12065.  The guided ride will cover about 16 miles\, at a leisurely pace\, and include curated stops with historic highlights presented by Clifton Park Town Historian John Scherer.   \nThe route for this ride is northern Clifton Park\, from Jonesville into Ballston and back\, and will include on-road and off-road routes\, including a segment on the Zim Smith Trail. All riders of all ages are required to wear helmets. \nA stop at Lakeside Farms is planned as part of the journey.  Please bring your own water.  For more information please call (518) 371-6667.

SUMMARY:15th Annual Mohawk Towpath Byway Duathlon
DESCRIPTION:Register for the 15th Annual Mohawk Towpath Byway Duathlon at http://www.mohawktowpath.org/duathlon for Sunday\, Oct. 15 at 8:30 a.m. for a 2-mile run/17-mile bike ride/2-mile run to the finish. The Duathlon attracts top\, regional\, multi-sport athletes\, as well as recreational runners and cyclists. The start\, exchange area\, and finish are all at Riverview Orchards\, at 660 Riverview Road\, and the course are through rural\, fall foliage landscapes along the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway. Embroidered crew hats are available to the first 100 registered. All participants and volunteers receive a Giffy’s Bar-B-Q chicken dinner\, post-race. \n  \n

SUMMARY:23nd Annual Clifton Park Trails Day - Guided Bike Ride
DESCRIPTION:The Trails Subcommittee of the Open Space\, Trails & Riverfront Committee is leading an Erie Canal focused bicycle ride on Sunday\, June 4\, 2017 in the southern area of the Town of Clifton Park. This is the 22nd annual\, National Trails Day bike ride held in Clifton Park. The route will cover about 10 to 12 miles\, and be conducted at a casual pace.\nTown Historic John Scherer will provide ride commentary at stops along the way.  The ride helps celebrate the bicentennial of the construction of the Erie Canal\, and the completion of the Towpath Community Connector Trail project that connects the Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve in Clifton Park\, to a newly created trail section in the Town of Halfmoon. \nMeet up about 12:45 p.m. for a 1 p.m. ride start.  The ride begins and ends at the Historic Grooms Tavern\, located at the intersection of Grooms Road and Sugar Hill Road.  Bike entrance on Sugar Hill Road; car parking is available in a small lot\, off of Grooms Road\, west of the intersection. \nHelmets are required for all ages\, for all riders. Group leaders will guide participants along the route\, and stop periodically to discuss various points of interest along the way. The 10- to 15-mile ride will cover key northern Clifton Park bicycle trails and scenic autumn landscapes. \nEveryone is welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
