Parking will be available at the Grooms Road entrance. Historic Grooms Tavern is located at the intersection of Grooms Road and Sugar Hill Road. \nSATURDAY\, MAY 13:  Activities will include: a guided walking tour of the Vischer Ferry National Historic District within the hamlet of Vischer Ferry; a guided walking tour of the Erie Canal along the towpath within the Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve. DESCRIPTION:The Town of Clifton Park and its Open Space\, Trails & Riverfront Committee are hosting the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) for a Learn-to-Fish Day event at the Barney Road Pond on Saturday\, May 6\, 2017.  This event is a kick-off for the annual May celebration of open spaces in Town. \nDEC staff will be available to help demonstrate how to fish\, for all ages\, and the benefits and values. \nAll are welcome between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  No equipment is necessary\, as the DEC will have some poles to borrow.  You can bring your own poles and gear if you do have it though. \nDuring the hours of this public event\, no fishing license is required. DESCRIPTION:Come explore Clifton Park’s Open Spaces through a nature education program geared for young children. This “Parent & Me” Hike is at Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve\, at the Ferry Drive Entrance (end of Ferry Drive) overlooking the Mohawk River.  This is the first of five hikes at different locations\, are planned for each consecutive\, Wednesday morning in March 2017. \nMeet-up at 9:20 a.m. for the hike start at 9:30 a.m. and will incorporate a nature education theme. The hike will last approximately one hour. \nProgram facilitator Kelsi Clark will lead this morning nature outing for young children and their parents/grandparents/caregivers. \nWalks are designed to be “jogging stroller friendly” but a child backpack or front carrier is recommended\, depending on the age of the child participants. \nPlease dress appropriately for weather\, and trail conditions. \nThis is a free program.  Pre-registration is required through the Parks & Recreation Department\, https://recs.egov.basgov.com/cliftonpark/User/Login.  For more information\, please call (518) 371-6667.

DESCRIPTION:Join in the fun at Riverview Orchards in the Town of Clifton Park this Saturday\, May 7\, 2016\, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shenendehowa Rotary in conjunction with the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway and Riverview Orchards will be holding their 3nd Annual Apple Blossom Festival. Come and learn about the history of the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway and Apple Blossoms. \nThe Apple Blossom Festival will include hayrides\, live music\, face painting\, kite flying\, an obstacle course\, an ice cream eating contest\, giant bubbles\, canal clean sweep\, homemade Mother’s Day craft for kids and lots more fun and entertainment for the whole family. \nA roadside clean-up kicks off the event at 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. \nFrom 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.\, a host of activities will be available including folk dancing\, entertainment\, karaoke\, hay rides\, an ice cream eating contest featuring Stewart’s “Crumbs along the Mohawk” flavor. Giant bubble blowing\, crafts\, fairy gardening\, an obstacle course\, face painting and more will be featured.
