SUMMARY:Parent & Me Hike at North Woods Nature Preserve
DESCRIPTION:Come explore Clifton Park’s Open Spaces through a nature education program geared for young children. This “Parent & Me” Hike is at North Woods Nature Preserve\, located between 38 and 40 Shadow Wood Way in the heart of the Country Knolls neighborhood.  This is the second of five hikes at different locations\, are planned for each consecutive\, Wednesday morning in March 2017. \nMeet-up on Wed.\, March 8\, at 9:20 a.m. for the hike start at 9:30 a.m. and will incorporate a nature education theme. The hike will last approximately one hour. \nProgram facilitator Kelsi Clark will lead this morning nature outing for young children and their parents/grandparents/caregivers. \nWalks are designed to be “jogging stroller friendly” but a child backpack or front carrier is recommended\, depending on the age of the child participants. \nPlease dress appropriately for weather\, and trail conditions. \nThis is a free program.  Pre-registration is required through the Parks & Recreation Department\, https://recs.egov.basgov.com/cliftonpark/User/Login.  For more information\, please call (518) 371-6667.

DESCRIPTION:The second Book Walk & Talk in a 3-part series\, is Friday\, July 15\, 2016\, starting at 10 a.m. until noon\, at North Woods Nature Preserve\, entrance between 38 and 40 Shadow Wood Way\, in the Country Knolls neighborhood\, in northern Clifton Park.  This literary nature walk activity is presented by the Clifton Park – Halfmoon Library — out in the parks!  Parking is directly along Shadow Wood Way for this event. \nClues will be placed along an approximately\, 1-mile trail route — for participants to guess which book is being profiled.  All ages are welcome to join in the activity. \nThe activity will involve a group discussion and a walk at the beginning of each session\, or participants may arrive later for a solo walk. Trail maps will be available between 10 a.m. and noon that day. \nJoin the Clifton Park – Halfmoon Library staff this summer for a series of literary nature walks on nature trails throughout the Town of Clifton Park.
