DESCRIPTION:Bring some gloves and loppers\, and help with a trail clean-up at the Mohawk Landing Nature Preserve\, sponsored by the Friends of Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway on Sat.\, May 12\, 2018.  Meet up at 9 am at the preserve parking lot.  Immediately following the clean up activity\, is the Apple Blossom Festival at the next-door\, Riverview Orchards farm property\, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SUMMARY:15th Annual Mohawk Towpath Byway Duathlon
DESCRIPTION:Register for the 15th Annual Mohawk Towpath Byway Duathlon at http://www.mohawktowpath.org/duathlon for Sunday\, Oct. 15 at 8:30 a.m. for a 2-mile run/17-mile bike ride/2-mile run to the finish. The Duathlon attracts top\, regional\, multi-sport athletes\, as well as recreational runners and cyclists. The start\, exchange area\, and finish are all at Riverview Orchards\, at 660 Riverview Road\, and the course are through rural\, fall foliage landscapes along the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway. Embroidered crew hats are available to the first 100 registered. All participants and volunteers receive a Giffy’s Bar-B-Q chicken dinner\, post-race. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Please SAVE-THE-DATE for a joint event of the Town of Clifton Park Historic Preservation Commission and the Open Space\, Trails & Riverfront Committee slated for the weekend of Saturday\, May 13\, 2017. \nFRIDAY\, MAY 12:  A weekend kick-off event will be the Opening of the Erie Canal Exhibit at the newly restored upstairs of the Historic Grooms Tavern\, and a talk by Town Historian John Scherer on Friday\, May 12\, in the evening\, at Historic Grooms Tavern. Parking will be available at the Grooms Road entrance. Historic Grooms Tavern is located at the intersection of Grooms Road and Sugar Hill Road. \nSATURDAY\, MAY 13:  Activities will include: a guided walking tour of the Vischer Ferry National Historic District within the hamlet of Vischer Ferry; a guided walking tour of the Erie Canal along the towpath within the Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve. Tour the newly reconstructed Erie Canal Towpath Community Connector trail for a longer\, guided hike! \nFamily oriented activities will be offered throughout the day! \nBring your kayak or canoe\, and launch at Clute’s Dry Dock! \nFood and refreshments will be available at Vischer Ferry General Store\, 357 Riverview Road\, and further west\, at Riverview Orchards\, 660 Riverview Road (the site of the Apple Blossom Festival!). \nPartners include Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway Coalition and more! \nFor more information\, to volunteer\, to get involved\, please contact the Open Space Coordinator at 518-371-6054.

DESCRIPTION:This National Trails Day Ride — set for Sunday\, June 5\, 2016\, will start and finish at the Historic Grooms Tavern\, located off of Grooms Road at the Sugar Hill Road intersection.\nMeet up at Historic Grooms Tavern by about 12:45 p.m. for a 1 p.m. ride start.\nHelmets are required for everyone – all ages.\nThis guided ride will take a southern route through Clifton Park.
