Garnsey Park
Welcome to Garnsey Park
Garnsey Park offers over 150 acres of rolling meadows, wooded ridgeline and a mile-plus of nature trails in Western Clifton Park, helping retain the rural, open character within this area of town. It is also the site of the Rexford Veterans Memorial, which was rededicated in 2012.
The easy-going, mowed trails through the grassy meadows are family-friendly and ideal for walking, hiking and cross-country skiing. And the woods walk is worth the extra steps to reach — for a totally different experience.
You’ll also find two small ponds located on site, as well as open meadow wetlands.
The Town of Clifton Park Open Space, Trails & Riverfront Committee and the Stewardship Subcommittee members are working with the Town to maintain a significant area of former farmfields as a grasslands – meadow habitat for the diversity of birds, butterflies and small mammals that thrive in these environments.
Garnsey Park offers the second highest point in town; in clear weather you may see a view of the distant peaks in Massachusetts and Vermont.
To the northwest of Garnsey Park is the Waite Road Property, 97 acres of woodlands and wetlands, owned by Saratoga P.L.A.N., a regional land trust, http://www.saratogaplan.org/.
